Mai Chau is located in Hoa Binh province, which situated in the nations northwestern region of Vietnam, approximately 135 km from Hanoi and 60 km from Hoa Binh. From the top of Doc Cun pass, one can admire the superb panorama of Mai Chau surrounded by a green valley and stilt houses. Many ethnic minorities including the Thai, H’mong live in it. It is actually a fantastic place for trekking tours around the villages such as Lat, Pong Coong and Van village. It also attracts many tourists with traditional stilt houses of of the H'Mong and the Thai; Thai spread dancing includes traditional music performance, singing and dancing; and the beautiful scenery. |
DAY 1: HA NOI – MAI CHAU (L, D)
Morning: Our guide welcome at the dated point. Depart for Mai Chau. Enjoying scenery along the way
such sights as interesting churches, pagodas, ethnic villages. Arrive at Lat village at noon. Have
lunch in the traditional stilt-house.
Afternoon: Short walking around the minority village to contact local people, passing through paddy
fields to take picturesque of Mai Chau valley.
After dinner, enjoy the Thai’s traditional spread dancing show performed by local villagers and
share homemade tem wine (Ruou Can) with hosts.
Home stay at a stilt house in Mai Chau.
DAY 2: MAI CHAU – HA NOI (B, L)
Morning: Breakfast. Trekking around Pong Coong village. Driving back to Ha Noi. Stop over in Hoa
Binh for seeing Hoa Binh hydroelectricity. Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel.
